Joga v pisarni je odličen način, kako pripeljati pozitivne učinke joge v delovno, pogosto tudi stresno okolje. V zadnjih letih vse več podjetij investira v svoje zaposlene tako, da jim omogoča ure joge kot uvod v delovni dan, kot sprostitveno pavzo v času kosila ali kot zaključek delovnega dneva. Zadovoljni uslužbenci so bolj produktivni in bolj osredotočeni na svoje delo.

Zaradi številnih fizičnih izzivov, ki se pojavijo pri delu v pisarni, ima vadba joge veliko pozitivnih učinkov. Dolgotrajno sedenje za računalnikom ima za posledico zategnjenost bokov, kar vodi v bolečino v spodnjem delu hrbta. Prav tako pa slabo vpliva na našo telesno držo in na splošno telesno zdravje, saj naše telo ni narejeno, da večino dneva presedi.  

Pisarniška joga spravi zaposlene iz sedečega položaja v gibanje in raztegovanje. Podaljša in sprosti tesna mesta, zlasti ramena in boke, hkrati pa krepi šibkejša področja, kot sta jedro (‘core’) in zgornji del telesa. Sprostitev bokov in krepitev jedra olajša bolečine v križu. Z redno vadbo krepimo tudi posturalno zavedanje, zaradi česar je manj verjetno, da ‘pisarniški jogiji’ svoje telo zaklenejo v monoton položaj za več ur.

Mentalno je pisarniška joga idealna protiutež za delovno okolje, kjer je potrebno delati pod visokim pritiskom. Dihalne vaje in pozorno izvajanje joge dokazno zmanjšuje stres in tesnobo ter preprečuje ‘burnout’. Spremeni se aktivnost naših možganov in naučimo se bolj zbrano ravnati v neprijetnih situacijah. Zbudimo cirkulacijo in živčni sistem ter prinesemo novo energijo v telo.

Zaposleni ne potrebujejo biti mojstri v jogi, da bi občutili njene pozitivne učinke. Zadošča že ura vadbe na teden, da se življenje in s tem tudi delo v pisarni obrnita na bolje.

Yoga in the office is a great way to bring the positive effects of yoga into a working, often stressful, environment. In recent years, more and more companies have invested in their employees by offering them yoga classes as an introduction to the working day, as a relaxing break during lunch or as the end of the working day. Satisfied employees are more productive and more focused on their work.

Due to the many physical challenges that come with working in an office, practicing yoga has many positive effects. Sitting for long periods of time at the computer results in tight hips, which leads to lower back pain. It also has a bad effect on our posture and general physical health, as our body is not designed to sit for most of the day.

Office yoga gets employees out of a sitting position into movement and stretching. It lengthens and relaxes tight areas, especially the shoulders and hips, while strengthening weaker areas such as the core and upper body. Relaxing your hips and strengthening your core can help ease lower back pain. With regular exercise, we also strengthen postural awareness, which makes it less likely that 'office yogis' lock their bodies in a monotonous position for several hours.

Mentally, office yoga is the ideal counterbalance for a work environment where you have to work under high pressure. Breathing exercises and careful yoga have proven to reduce stress and anxiety and prevent burnout. The activity of our brain changes and we learn to act more composedly in unpleasant situations. We wake up the circulation and nervous system and bring new energy to the body.

Employees do not need to be yoga masters to feel its positive effects. Just one hour of exercise per week is enough to change life and thus also work in the office for the better.
